The Tennessee Republican Party responds thusly:
“Frankly, we’re shocked that Rep. Cohen, a Memphis Democrat who was targeted by vicious anti-Jewish slurs and bigotry during his two successful runs for Congress, would make such idiotic and offensive comments,” said Robin Smith, chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. “Comparing Gov. Palin to the killer of Christ is simply beyond the pale. Gov. Palin’s strong Christian life and faith are self-evident.”-- RYAN UNDERWOOD
It was Gov. Palin who made lite of community organizers. Rep. Cohen just pointed out what is a fact.
ReplyDeleteWait, i thought BUSH was Jesus? Now I'm confused :(
ReplyDeleteLook, Steve is in Memphis which is predominately black. He was just pandering to his supporters.
ReplyDeleteAfter all, the Ford's are from there too or the ones who not in prison or on the the way there.
Steve Cohen is a typical idiot Democ(rat) and a good example of why they should NEVER be elected nor trusted!
ReplyDeleteDEFEND AMERICA; DEFEAT DEMOC(RATS)!!
Steve Cohen is exactly right. Palin claims to be a Christian while her arrogant self-righteous beliefs are opposite those of Jesus Christ. Obama is the most devout Christian presidential candidate in many years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bonehead comment! What was this idiot thinking?
ReplyDeleteI find it amusing that Rep Cohen (who kept the infamous Memphis Ford Family out of Congress by defeating a cousin of former Rep. Harold Ford Jr in 2006) who is Jewish not only by heritage but also by reputation, would compare Obama's "community organizer" experience to that of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteIn the view of the Jews of the time, Jesus was NOT a community organizer. He was an agitator, a rabble-rouser, a negative influence on the community - which is why the Jewish High Priest Caiphas - along with a mob of citizens - took him to Pilate and demanded he be crucified. He was certainly not seen by the Jewish elite as any kind of community "organizer", much less as the Savior he was sent to be.
So in the inference, is Rep. Cohen calling Obama an agitator, a rabble-rouser? As Obama is an acolyte of the Saul Alinsky model of community action, Cohen may be more accurate than he knows.
Jesus may have been a community organizer, and Pilate may have been a governor, but the ass Jesus rode into Jerusalem must have been a Democrat congressman from Memphis.
ReplyDeleteAdolph Hitler was an community organizer Ronald Reagan was a Governor
